Exclamation LT's, need input, Please help!

Alright guys, I'm planning on getting in on a fantastic group buy for Hooker LT's, only problem is that I'm a newbie, and really dont know EXACTLY what I need. Let me give you a rundown of what I have, and maybe you can give me some tips and advise on which route I should take.

Its a 99 Z28, I have to be able to pass emissions. I know they just plug into the OBDII's in our cars and see if we're throwing a code, but I'm also worried about a visual inspection. Right now all I have is a custom dynomouth exhaust...I have a 12" bullet welded in on the i-pipe before the driveshaft, would that pass for a cat?

I'm getting, like I said, the Hooker long tubes and the y-pipe through the group buy. What else would I need do you think. I was told o2 simms......what else? Thanks for your help in advance!

Good luck because I don't think you're going to pass. If you want LTs then I would suggest you find someone that will make you a custom Y with cats. You'd be moving the cats but maybe the "inspector" won't notice or just won't say anything.

IMO, the bullet will not pass for cat, unless the guy is a complete moron. I'm sure they have a pretty good idea about where the cats are supposed to be...and it ain't by the rear axle.

I've never heard of them scanning the car to see if you're throwing any codes . At least, they never did back when we had testing here.

Just remember, even if the emissions inspector gives you an ok for the cat (the bullet), even though you should have two, there's a pretty good chance that you'll fail the actual emissions test...because you don't have cats.

If you don't want to move to a state that doesn't test (like FL ) then have a Y w/ cats made and save yourself the hassle or worse, a pretty hefty fine.

From what I'm aware of, in Arizona, all they do is plug into your car's computer. If you dont throw any codes, you pass emissions. I'm new to the state, and I'm going purely on what I was told.
