mass air sensor

Is there a way to test mass air sensor to see if it is working besides autotap?

i don't think there is a good way to test it. i believe it responds to the pcm with a different frequency depending on how much current is needed to keep the wire at a certain temp. as more air enters, more current is needed to keep a constant temp. I know on an LT1 car you can disconnect it and it will go into speed density mode. I am not sure if this works on an LS1 or not. the only thing i can suggest is to clean it out with electrical contact cleaner or tuner cleaner spray from radioshack. if you have a friend with the same car, you could try swapping it out and see if there is a difference.

i was having car problems a couple weeks ago, i suspected the maf sensor (85mm ZO6 unit), so i unpluged it and the car started up fine and ran smooth.

so i know this works on the ls1 also...give it a try
