Me 2000 m6 Z...Him 2002 m5 GT...I beat him by a car?
I have a 2000 z28 6spd...my buddy has a 2002 mustang gt 5spd..i just got my car about a month ago and we got in our first race tonight...my car is bone stock (no free mods,nothing)...his car has a off road h-pipe, cat-back, fenderwell cold-air induction...i got him by a car from about a 10mph first gear roll thru roughly the top of 3rd...If his car makes about 235-245 at the wheels (with his mods) and i should be making at least 280 at the wheels shouldn't i have pulled 3 cars on him easily? Just wondering if I possibly have dog or I'm expecting to much? Just wanted some opinions before we both go get our cars dyno'ed next week. Thanks.
P.S. no powershifting by either of us...clean race on both parts...no "significant" wheel spin from him or I...we have about the same driver ability....Thanks again

either that or you are expecting too much..
His mods may have done him good. Remember you are still stock. Post what your dyno numbers are, since that may help explain this..
Another point is car weight. From my understanding, mustangs are lighter, right? So the fact that he had mods and was lighter may have been contributing. But also note that the 1/4 mile ends for us at 105mph (roughly) so you need to race to that speed otherwise its more of an 1/8 mile race and your car inst the best down low.. Its much better after the 1/8th.
You didnt race far enough.. hehhe

My friend has an 00 GT and when my car was stock i beat him by about 2-3 cars on a regular basis. He had full length headers, off-road h-pipe, borla cat-back, steeda pulleys, and a K&K fipk.
