Mobil 1 oil questions

Mobil 1 oil questions
I changed my oil this weekend and the car feels smoother if that is believable.
Is this normal?
The other question I have is where can I find a Mobil 1 oil filter!?!

I got my Mobil 1 filter at Autozone. I don't know if there
are any of this franchise in Texas.
IMHO, Fram should NOT be used. Fram uses a cardboard
endcap inside the filter, not metal like some other filters.
Then again changed often enough most oil filters will
hold up.

the reason i dont use a fram is cause i have heard of some cases where you might have something wrong with your engine and the dealer will not warranty the prob if you have a fram filter due to the fact that they do not let the oil flow as free.

Patman advised me to use the Purolator filter if I cant find the Mobil1 M1-206. So I am looking for that filter now..
I have the purolator but it was such a pain to get everything that I want it all ahead of time now.
I have just over 4300 miles. Did my 1st oil change at 4225.

I changed my oil last wkend using Mobil 1 and a Bosch filter. 3332. I had 2 observations. One, the Bosch had a larger diameter then stock Delco. It fit with room to spare but I was concerned when I got the Delco off and compared sizes. The other observation I had was my oil pressure seems to be higher with the Mobil 1. I bot the car ('01 Formula) a couple of months ago. The dealer had changed the oil prior to me buying it but with regular Mobil. I only have a few miles on since the change so maybe it's only a matter of new oil. Or maybe it's the new Mobil 1 filler cap I put on.

Yikes!!! I'll have to re-evaluate my filter choice. I cahng my oil every 3-4000 miles. No oil consumption problem to date. 40,000 miles. I'll have to research that filter. That AC filter (PF44) is always out of stock. I'll look into a Mobil 1 filter. Thanks.

I felt the same thing the first time I changed with Mobil 1. I may have been imagining things, but I swear that it was an immediate improvement - it felt like it was running smoother. I picked up my Mobil1 filter at AutoZone also - I haven't seen them too many places around though.

I too use the mobil 1 filter. 12.99 at autozone. Add that to the 17.99 5qt containers of Mobil One 5W 30 at Wal-Mary and it isnt too painful to do an oil change. (I have only put 18k on my car in over 2 years)
I also noticed that the engine seemed a teeny bit smoother when I switched, but I also noticed more noise from the valvetrain which doesnt make sense. I run at about 45-50 psi at idle (warm) and it will swing north of 60 if I rev it hard. No oil consumption, inspite of weekly autocrosses and the occasional trip to the drag strip.
On a side note.... I also switched to Mobil One gear oil in the rear axle and i now get a "howling" of the gears at about 50 mph when i am off the gas. I assume this is imperfect meshing of the teeth on the gears. Can anyone confirm or refute this? (Yes I used the GM rear additive for the limited slip)
Somehthing I should be concerned about? Its been like this for 10k + so its probably too late if it is...
Thanks
