Money on Z28 boost or C5???
Somebody please give me some good advice. I've just bought a -98 Z28 and was planning on adding a Procharger to get some 400+ RWHP. In the meantime I've had the opportunity to drive a number of Corvette C5:s and got a little caught on that. I'm kind of beginning to consider buying a C5 instead of boosting up my Z28. It will cost considerably more, though, and after getting a C5 I would probably want to do something to THAT engine as well. Can someone give me an advice. How good is the Z28 after adding a Procharger? Is that the right way to go? Will steering, breaks and axles be good enough? Or should I go for the Vette?

Depends on how much you value the handling and lighter weight of the Vette.
These solid axle cars can't compare in that department.
The engine ... the blower will make enough power to keep all but those with really serious "unresolved life issues" happy.
Just keep it pointed in the right direction and it'll work out ...
Hope this helps

Personally, I'd go for the boosted Z28 over a Corvette. Considering that a 'Vette is almost double the cost of a Camaro to buy, for the price of "two Camaros", you'd have one hell of a fast Z28!! If money isn't an object, then obviously you'd get the 'Vette and put a blower on it, but if you've gotta weigh out your options based on what you really want, and what you can afford, you truly have to decide what you really want. Like I said, give me a Z28 with a supercharger over a stock 'Vette anyday and I'll drive circles around them ('til they get pi$$ed off at me and run me into a ditch! )
One thing to keep in mind: the Z28 is more practical. Comfortable or not, it's still a 4-seater vs a 2-seater, and it has a lot more luggage space than a 'Vette (or beer-case-space!! )

Hej Ajax,
You living here in the States..? Can you even buy a Z28 in Sweden, how?
As far as your question goes, buy what you like, the two cars are totally different. I had a vette and sold it to get the SS for reasons like a back seat, etc.

You should look into a Intercooled Vortec 6 lb. kit. The guys at tybern had a z running 10's with stock internals and a vortec with an intercooler, LT headers, tubular K-member, and a few other things. Plus if you wan't to go faster get the blower, but if you want to be trendy get the vette .

Trey, he said 400RWHP, not a 40hp gain so its more like 80hp.

Down here in Florida, the vette was in a different insurance class - VERY EXPENSIVE! Insurance on my Z28 is only $118 a month - something else to consider.
