Is my ls1 gonna blow up

Sounds like ticking when i first start it, then it slowly goes away, will this get worse?

Sounds like the typical LS1 piston slap. Very common problem with this engine. Do a search for piston slap and you'll find lots of information.

My dads 4.8L tahoe (genIII) when it first starts, my camaro does that only on extremely cold starts 3.8L

It's piston slap, unfortunately it's "normal"

easiest way to get rid of noises on the car is not fixing them. LOL. Its getting an irrationally loud exhaust that can be heard from miles away. Cam and open longtubes works well like in my case.

Most all are noisy until warmed up.Unless you oil consumption goes crazy or you check compression and find out its very low you do what all the rest of us do..you live with it and if you ever rebuild the motor you can put in the upgraded coated pistons or put in forged and the noise will be even louder until the forged pistons warm up.

hey 80TA, you need to drop your sig to like 7 or less lines. Just giving you a heads up before a moderator busts you for it.
