The T/A weighs more b/c with power seats you usually have the leather. They go hand in hand in the build of 'em.

The spoiler adds a good bit of weight, probably about 20 pounds.

the body cladding/ground effects add up...

for a total of 100ish pounds, per a motor trend article. If i could remember the title or issue i would tell you all.

But yeah, they do weigh more.

 

yeah mine is a 99 camro z28, m6

it has cloth seats, but they are power(first time ive seen it..)
power windows and locks and its a hardtop.
it feels a tad lighter than my friend's ws6.

maybe im just biased

 

i gotta agree with the other guys, its a TA. i think the reason the dealer said it was a formula was because the vin. Every Pontiac F-body has a vin that starts with 2g2fv22, then after that Formulas have a P. Trans ams have a G. i have heard of dealers gettin slips on TA's saying that they are formulas..........but regardless, if u have a raised wing, and center mounted fog lamps then its a TA!

 

The service repair order will give the description that the service writer types in. If you run the vin # it should tell you if it's a Trans Am or not. My window sticker for my 99 SS says exactly "1999 CAMARO Z28 2-DOOR COUPE" and the very last option has "SS PERFORMANCE/APPEARANCE PKG" $3700.00

 

It's just like when you look up the vin number on a camaro ss and you will see it says z28...ss is just a performance/appearance package.
