Need Some Tire Advice
I asked this question awhile back but didn't really get around to following through. My question is what would be a good replacement tire for my 2001 Z28? I currently have the stock Eagle GS-C's on the car but they are seriously on their last leg in terms of tread life. Can anybody give me some advice here? I have been considering either BFG's or maybe Sumitomo's. I don't think Nitto makes their 555's for my size rim (245/50/16) but if they did id buy them in a heartbeat. Does anybody have any input here? I would like an everyday tire with good dry traction.

Well, whether or not it has been posted before , I say : Go w/ Kumhos !
I have been pleased so far w/ mine - even if I only get the same 24K as the factory F1's , @ $ 120.00/tire they are a helluva lot cheaper !!
Plus, wet weather speed traction is great - off the line, they suck as bad as any other tire.
Dry traction is good, too - assuming it's 85 degrees or hotter around here. Otherwise, w/ the stall I have to really feather it off the line as opposed to "light" feathering.

If they are for a daily driver that might see some rain you can't touch Firestone SZ50s for overall performance. They are incredible in the rain and great for dry traction. Bridgestone RE730s are v ery good too, both very good looking tires as well.

I am a yoko fan..
I say Yokohama AVS Intermediats if you can find them.
Thats what I will throw on my car as soon as I need new tires.
If I cant find them, I will still use a high end Yokohama or Michelin tire.. Cause so much is riding on your tires!
ehhe
as for Kumhos.. they sux... just like the name states.. They are that bad.. even after initial break in, they would not give me any traction and were moved up front. My moderately worn AVS tires did their job 100000000000 times better!
