Cool New Z28 owner

Im a new Z28 owner, this is my first "real" car all I have had where pickups (2 s-10's)before this. I love it, im around 2400 miles now and she runs perfectly. I always worry about pressing the brakes hard because I have heard that these cars go through rotors pretty fast, so hopefully mines will last.
Unfortunately for me I dont know anything about working under the hood of a car of this type. The only thing I was thinking about for right now was a Corsa catback. But I would like to mod it up a bit myself, if you have any suggestions that I dont have to be a auto technician to know how to install I would welcome them. Thanks

Congrats on the car. The LS-1 engine compartments are pretty cramped. This problem is especially complicated if you lift weights and have large forearms . I just got my Camaro a few weeks ago, so my tech knowledge of these engines is also rather limited.

Congrats on the new car. First thing you should do is to head over to http://www.installuniversity.com and read about the free mods and other mods they have listed. Most of the stuff is quite simple if you have half a brain and can turn a wrench and follow instructions.

First mods:

Lid, filter, SFC ans STB. From there, it's all a matter of how much money you want to spend. Money = Speed

Thanks guys, I guess I will go with a lid and a filter for now. I was also wondering what is the deal with cutouts, I see a lot of perspectives going either way on this forum some people say they are bad and some people love them. I was wondering if somone could tell me the pros and cons to a cutout. Also would it even be worth having if I would be using a Corsa catback?

You can have a cut out w/Corsa, thinking of getting one myself. Also check out http://mfba.org

Thanks, but I would still like to know what are the pros and cons of having a cutout, it it really worth it? Will the performance differ so much from just having a Corsa catback to having the cutout/catback combo?

Congrats on the car, you're gonna love it!
The modding is a disease, it will infect you and it is incurable.
The first mods for all F-cars:
Free mods (this is hit and miss, but FRA is a must)
Lid
Free flowing muffler/cat-back
Subframe connectors... In that order.
