Newbie Q about SS exhaust

I'm the happy new owner of a 2000 Camaro SS.. I checked the SLP sticker on the door and it says I have "performance exhaust." Is this the same as "loudmouth" exhaust? I've got two big pipes coming out the back, about 4" in diameter if that helps. Sounds good, very loud..

Thanks in advance..

Do you have a regular looking muffler behind the rear axle?

Lodmouth wasnt an SLP option in 2000. You probobly have the have the dual/dual cat back.

Does it have a part number ....you can go to slp.com and check it or call them. My 1998 camaro ss came with the slp dual/dual on it. I took it off and put on the loudmouth. Now I took the loudmouth off and put the slp two out the left exhaust on. The slp dual/dual has a muffler right under the truck.........the slp loudmouth has a glasspack or tube like looking muffler/resonator on the drivers side right under the passenger seat or maybe a little behind......look under there. My dual/dual was really quiet.......couldnt even here the car......

The passenger side pipe turns left in front of the gas tank, connects up with the driver's side, and goes forward into a slightly larger pipe just about under the passenger's seat.

It's definitely a lot louder than stock, enough that I think my ears are gonna bleed at certain RPMs with the windows down.

I didn't see anything that looked like the mufflers I'm used to seeing.

Where would I find a part number?

Thanks for the help guys!

You don't have a factory exhaust. It sounds like you may well have the SLP Loudmouth, but that's an aftermarket only item. The SLP dual/dual optional from the factory would have two sets of dual tips (hence the name) and have a recognizable muffler under the rear of the car.

is there something that looks like this. You didnt see something that looks like a normal muffler right? Where the muffler or resonator is it should look like the pipe gets bigger then gets smaller .Go to slponline .com and check it out.... Look for slp loudmouth......Check the part number with yours on the door. or give me the part number and Ill check and see what it says on my door.....

Sounds like a Loudmouth or a Dynomouth, most likely an LM. Enjoy.

I checked out the link that sweet98ss provided for loudmouth exhaust - that's exactly what I've got!!! I am thrilled! The guy I bought the car from insisted that it was a "stock" SS.. He was not the original owner so I believe he didn't know. I wonder what else might not be "stock"? I'm dying to get it to the dyno now..

Thanks for the help guys!!
