Ok, for a n/a WS-6 TA.. which headers do you prefer and why? Pacesetters or Hookers? Both ceramic coated. Don't know which way to go.. looking for both ease of installation and performance my buddy is saying hooker but I see a lot of you have Pacesetter. Tell me what ya think thanks guys

Re: Pacesetter vs. Hooker

pacesetters fit well for the ls1 car... i have seen them and talked to people who have then and they all say the are cool... but really, a ceramic coated header is a ceramic coated header... the only benifit of hoooker is if you get stainless steel ones... other then that i would just say the price of pacesetters is so amazing you just cant beat it...

Re: Pacesetter vs. Hooker

I would recommend the PaceSetter long tubes. The Hooker and PaceSetter headers are so similar in design that your power gain is going to be identical. We sell the PaceSetter ceramic-coated long tubes with emissions or non-emissions fittings for $374.99 + shipping, and we do price-match should you find them cheaper elsewhere. We have a header package with your choice of PaceSetter ceramic-coated long tubes and our 3" off-road y-pipe for $500 + shipping.

Feel free to give us a call with any questions or concerns.

Thanks!

Re: Pacesetter vs. Hooker

Two of my friends have coated Pacesetter LTs and an ORY and said it's a great value for the money.

TSP is good to do business with. Every mod. on my car minus my lid came from them, and so will my headers. Their new website is very helpful, especially camshaft descriptions.

I have a question for you Trevor:

I plan to buy the Pacesetter LTs with your catted y-pipe. What else to I need to complete this installation, O2 extensions, header installation kit?

I also have a question on the pacesetters... Are you selling the new edition ones where there is no need to clearancing the k member?

Those old Pacesetters are long gone. No one sells those anymore.

I like the TSP true dual x pipes, but what about cats? Anybody out there have a true dual setup w/cats or do i waste the money with an x-pipe kit only to cut 'em up for cats?

O.K hijacker.....That's a LITTLE off topic. That has nothing to do with this guy's post!

Re: Pacesetter vs. Hooker

You talk headers, you end up talking y-pipes (like they've already done). Maybe i should have said, "instead of headers and y-pipes, why not headers and true dual xpipes". Happy?

Thats not even the same. The guy want's to know what headers to buy, and instead of helping him out, you ask "which x-pipe should "I" buy." This thread is not about x-pipes OR you. I'm not trying to be a jerk, you just kind of stole the thread for your own agenda.

Re: Pacesetter vs. Hooker

^^^ shut up!

OK, I actually have the Pacesetter LT's on my car and the TSP ORY-pipe, and the sound and performance are great. I have the TSP Rumbler exhaust just for reference.

Installation was a breeze. Time consuming but nothing difficult. Just don't cross-thread any bolts in your aluminum heads. Test-fit all your exhaust components before you start tearing the car apart. I had to take the TSP Y-pipe to an exhaust shop to have it opened up a little bit where it fit onto the collector of one of the headers as it didn't fit. My friend had the same problem.

As for quality, my collectors have a little bit of surface rust, right on the welds, but no big deal. I've had them for just over a year, and the coating is still there and they really do stay cooler. I can grab them after just a couple minutes after shutting my car off. Neat.

If I had to do it over again, I might spend the extra bucks and get a full stainless exhaust. But for the price, I'm very very happy with the Pacesetters and TSP ORY/Rumbler. 342 rwhp, 359 rwtq. Get a good tune to see the most gains from them.

^^^^ what ABE said, I also have the pacesetters and the quality verses cost is awsome.I bought mine from TEXAS SPEED along with their catted y-pipe and the HOOKER catback and it sounds tough but not too loud.

Re: Pacesetter vs. Hooker

I have the Hooker's without the ceramic coating, paid $429. If I had it to do all over I would go with the PaceSetters because you can get those in the ceramic coating for a whole lot less with no performance loss if any, that u would noticeably tell. Plus, mine are rusting like crazy.

Re: Pacesetter vs. Hooker

Another thing I can add, is that the hookers have a smaller flange that is more prone to warpage. The pacesetters are a SLIGHTLY better quality header for less $$.

Re: Pacesetter vs. Hooker

My Hooker LTs have been perfect so far. No leaks, no banging, easy install and only a tiny patch of discoloration by the collector. I've read plenty of good stuff about the Pacesetters too...
