Post Please help Gears

I think i have 3.73 my in 98 m6 i was planning to get 4.10. In your opinion is the swap worth it. It is going to cost $500 and i dont want to spend half a grand if i am not going to notice big gains. Maybe $500 will be better spent on another mod.

Cool

You say that you think your car has 3.73's. If they are, they would've had to have been swapped out at some point. The factory gear ratio for the six speeds is 3.42:1, just in case you didn't know. The 4.10's will make a nice difference, but I'd be a little weary of 4.10's in a 7.5" 10-bolt rearend. The gears are weak since they're so thin on the 4.10's, so it's not going to take much, if any, abuse at the track. If it were me, I'd just stick with the 3.73's if that's what you do have.
