Question Power steering fluid - corrosive???

Hi all

The power steering return hose came off today and as well as leaving me with a very heavy truck to steer, sprayed power steering fluid all ove the driver side of the engine. You can just imagine the smoke - I thought it was all going to go up in flames. But sometimes there can be smoke without fire!!!

My question is about the fluid - is it corrosive? It looks and feels like an oil so I'm hoping it won't be damaging to anything under hood. Your opinions and knowledge are welcomed.

I've put it all back together, filled up with fluid and all seems to be fine. Is there anything I should now be worried about?

Thanks in advance.

Gary

It's no more corrosive than motor oil or tranny fluid... basically the same stuff anyways. You should be fine.
