Powershifting!? From ls1.com's FAQ
Alright guys, this sounds dangerous. Heres what it says:

Question 1-10: What is powershifting?
Answer: Powershifting is when you leave the gas pedal all the way to the floor and quickly move the shifter and work the clutch while racing. This allows a continuous application of power with no lag, and is typically good for a tenth or two improvement in the quarter mile times. It does not seem to cause any extra wear on the transmission either, the T56 transmission can take a lot of abuse.

I'm getting the picture of this. Instead of what I normally do between any shift, let go of the gas, shift, then floor it...
NEVER LET GO OF THE ACCELERATOR, JUST KEEP IT FLOORED, OPEN the Clutch, Put it in second, Then pop the clutch... and same for third, etc etc?
This sounds HORRIBLE for my baby, and it seems like it would do ALOT of wear to the transmission which I'd like to last at least 10k miles! What is your opinion, or have I read this wrong?

First to second is the easier of the shifts to powershift. second to thrid is the killer most likely if you hit first and second on the road you will already have beaten most cars so thrid can be taken more easily. these cars pull hard at the top end. my car has 34000 miles and is just now starting to show wear with the usually light to light traps. been to the track a few times also. just master the shifts and new shifter can help greatly.

Granted it can improve your times and reduce that 10th of a second in shifting lag..however it can also be tough on your car. You'll also have to realize that if you miss a shift, let off the accelerator and clutch or you'll be slamming your rev limiter. I've seen it happen a bunch of times.
