quick question on cam install.

quick question on cam install.

When the timing gears cam/crank the dots lign up as in the cam gear points to 6'oclock position & crank gear point 12'oclock postion is that #1 firing position of #6? Cuz I know when they lign up on the LT1 its #6, a little confused, thanx guys.

yes I did, very helpfull, now question is, so the LS1 doesn't need a specific 0 lash rockers adjustment like the LT1 does? from what I understand, with the dots ligned just torque all rockers to 22 ft/lb & than turn the motor over 720*, than another 360* & than retorque to 22-24 ft/lb, so the rockers don't have to be off the lobes I guess? how does that work out????

when cam gear points to 6'oclock position & crank gear points to 12'oclock postion, that is the top dead center position of cylinder #1
