Quick Tail light question

I had a couple of light sockets go bad so I ordered a wiring harness for 97 + tail lights from a salvage yard. In my 97 camaro the sockets are metal and round, the ones I received are plastic and slot shapped. Went to the parts store and looked up the bulb replacement for all years 98+ and they are the same as for my 97. Just wondering what all of you 98 + guys have. Thanks.

Lightbulb idea

If someone happens to be around the hatch of their car and could spare a minute to check out their tail light socket that would be awesome. If not any one think I would run into any trouble with the sockets I have. The only difference is where the bulb goes in, Both sockets have the same wires.
