You'll like the Magnaflow. Besides, IMO, too quiet would be easier to live with than too loud.

Yeah well I wanted my Ls1 to sound as tough as it is(not can be).Like a powerful V8 you know? but not obnoxious, not quiet either. At idle quiet rumble is cool, but acceleration like a powerful V8 tearin it up. Thanx Jay

The Magnaflow was a little louder and deeper at idle than my stock SS cat-back was. At wot it sounds nice and mean. It really wakes up and barks with the addition of headers.

My sentiments exactly. transam8 also summed it up well and since he brought up the issue of headers... I take it (transam8) that you have headers on your car? I wouldn't mind installing headers but, once again, how much louder is this going to make my exhaust? Does a quieter muffler help?

Go with the banks cat back system..I have it on mine and it has a awesome mellow sound to it..everyone compliments me on the sound...unlike anything else I have heard!...There is a GP over at LS1tech.com going on now for $399 (stainless)..I wish I had paid that

I'm running FLP's w/cats. My whole idea in getting the Magnaflow in the first place was that I would be adding headers in the future. I considered the Loudmouth and a few others, but decided that they would be a bit much with headers for a daily driver. The combo (FLP's and Magnaflow) sounds really nice imo. The tone is just about right for me. You will notice a noise difference with the addition of lt's, but you get used to it pretty quickly. The main difference that I noticed was at wot. It's all just music to my ears.

Thumbs up

I just went from a flowmaster on the stock exhaust to a magnaflow catback system and power wise I can really tell a difference on my 02 Z28. The sound at idle is not as deep as the Flowmaster but it sounds real nice when you floor it and crackles a little when you downshift. At 60 mph there is no buzz like the flowmaster had. I am happy with it and it is a well made quality kit for the price. I had it put on at a shop and there were no problems and all fit perfect.

Just The Opposite!!!

I have Hooker Long Tubes and have decided to try and run true dual exhaust, at least until Emission Check-up Time. I am trying to decide whether to go Flowmaster Delta's or SpinTech Pro Streets? Is SpinTech worth the extra money?

Thanks.

Go with the Magnaflow, I've had flows, mac, borla, SLP loudmouth and the Magnaflow is the way to go! It's not quiet at all, I dont know why people say its quiet!?? Maybe at idle its mellow yeah, but Its a DEEP tone, deeper than my loudmouth ever dreamed of being. And at crusing speed it really talks to ya. WOT is pure muscle. The muffler and tips have a mirror reflection and its all stainless. I've wasted a ton of money on exhausts, but its been worth it to find the Magnaflow. I'm very pleased with it if you couldn't tell!

it depends on how quiet you want when you get on it. i put SLP dual/dual on mine first, it was really quiet, even when i got on it, i then got Hooker Aero Chamber and it sounded the same at idle and when my RPM's are low, but when i open it up, it screams, i got more power out of the Hooker as well, a considerable difference. hope it helps.

I've had a couple of days to use the Magnaflow now and I have to say this, I love it. It is mellow at idle(very quiet compared to the flowmaster). But when you open it up, it sounds like the car is going to have wings pop out and fly. It has a great sound and I can honestly feel the performance increase. The packaging was excellent and the system looks so good, you almost don't want to put it under your car. Also, I seen a place online that sells them for 289.00. I ordered mine from a local muffler shop and paid $500, but that included the install and they put tack welds every so often for durability, plus they had it to me in 2 days! I would not want any other exhaust for any amount of money. Plus it comes with a lifetime warranty! For that price I never expected such premium quality. I know some don't like the 3 1/2 inch out the back, but my car has the factory ground FX and the dual tips look funny on the car. I sound like a salesman now for magnaflow lol
