Question Rear diff fluid change

hey its time to change my rear diff fluid and i was just wandering what everyone recommends and exactly how much fluid is required for operation?

2 Quarts of Red Line "Shockproof Lightweight Gear Oil" are sitting on my workbench waiting for me to do the same thing. I personally will only use Red Line in the diff and tranny.

If the car is brand new, it needs to be changed @ the 7500 mile mark. After that, it's a much bigger interval.

Nah. The car is a 98 and just rolled over 50,000. I've been working around the car replacing all of the fluids. Rear and tranny are next...

my rear differential leaks very slightly, so i've been told to change it every year. doesn't cost much, except for the gm sythetic fluid, 30bux a qt.

i buy two.

30 bucks a quart damn that crap is high yesterday i went to the chevy dealership got a new diff cover and gasket, 3 quarts of gm diff fluid, a bottle of the limited slip additive and a pinion seal and it all cost me 49 dollars.
