A few days ago I posted that my gear shifter spun around. I clearly stated that it was the rod, not the gear shift **** !!!! Many of you thought I was either stupid or creating a hoax. After taking my SS back to my local dealership they found that the shifter rod was loose and either the linkage was broken or the bolts that hold it fixed in place came out. It was external, it doesn't effect the tranny. A new shifter installed was approx. $130.00 and it doesn't spin around anymore. I don't know how it happened but I just wanted to share my weird misfortune with all of you. Thanks for your replies.
