I was in the same boat-looking for an f-body for $8k. I took a look at 10+ lt1s with miles ranging for 35k-80k. I ended up woth a ls1 Z w/ 100k highway miles that was in far better over all shape (mechanically and cosmetically) than the other cars...

 

Yep , if you saw My T/A , you would never beleive that I paid 8 grand . I had a friend , who is big into f-bodies , call me " a damn lier " . If you look around and take your time , Dont be impulsive , you might find a good deal . A unrealisticly good deal , like i did
