Should I get a Y-Pipe?

I just ordered Hooker LTs, and have a cutout after my cats. Will I see any gains from a Y-Pipe. But If I plan on just removing my cats do I need one?

Note: I will not gut my cats, I plan on keeping them till emmisions rolls around.

Yes you should get a y-pipe...I have FLP L/T's w/o cats and I have one...I wish I could remember now what the difference in my Buddy's ET was last year, but after he slapped one on, well, he was happy

Mufflex makes an ORY for the hooker LTs. Good idea to get one if you arnt going to run cats. But even if you do, you can buy the Mufflex unit and have your local muffler shop custom fab some carsound cats on for you.

As for emissions, I dont know how your state is with visual, but if you dont pass visual they wont even put your car on the rollers. This is assuming IF your state even has it. If they do, just find the crappiest smog shop you can, and chances are they wont care. Trust me, I know.

Thats what they say...Or how about wrapped heat sheild I wondered once. And the Hookers for some reason say they have the Executive for use in Cali emissions.EPA reg.#?? I think thats the shortys thou. But the guy who going to do my car says none of his customers have had any probs w/ FLPs in Cali so far.

WOO HOO he said FLP....

of course they would have no problem? The cats and cat delete pipe they come with can be switched in like 20-25 minutes...

Well yes and no,You still take a chance on the visual cuz the FLPs dont have the CARB #s stamped on them...BUT yeah if they over look the headers. The easy removal orps'/ cats w/ the FLPs are just fine for the sniff test I've heard about others who have passed w/them.If they wont.. find another shop(above)

like I said, I wish I could remember what the difference was in my buddy's ET, but it was noticeable in his time and the way he said the car accelerated on the road. And yes, you would need one...
