Post Squeeling in my steering!

Do I need to change my PS fluid? There is slight squeeling from time to time. 25,000 miles and live in FL. Oh, and if so...what brand is the best1 Or, is this nothing to be concerned about. Thanx

Question

Sure it is not the belt ?

I would say that typically power steering fluid is not an item to be changed except in case of a pump or steering rack failure.

(Basically, P.S. fluid & Brake fluid are the " neglected twins" - no manufacturer that I know of offhand has a recommended maintenance schedule on them. Would it be a good idea to periodically change them ? Mebbe.)

Your squeal may also be when the wheel is turned to full stop & held , causing the pump relief to activate.

Good Luck !

Britt
