Personally, everyone has mentioned the fact that women love to see you guys in these cars. I have had lots of cars in my life and all of them have had some work here and there. As you can see at the bottom what I have done to my car, Now you can imagine the compliments I get. I do notice if I drive with the windows down guys are always trying to catch up. When the windows are up women lerk around. I will admit that guys get attention when driving a bad a$$ car. BUT women get MAD attention when driving a bad a$$ car. As per your original question, you only live once just get the hood and be happy!!! With a car like this there is no such thing as bad attention. Only dirty looks when you smoke someone and do it with style.

i have an SS and a v6 and i have gotten more commetns and attention from the SS in two weeks then i did with my 6 in 4 years. Now it could be the hood or the exhaust but i find it hard to believe people can determine it being a V8 and basing their opionions solely on that.

Just like I don't play with regular GT's I see on the road, I'll play with the Cobra's and modded to heck GT's. If the car looks faster it gets more attention. It's hard to tell at first glance if a Z28 is a V6 or a Z28. Slap a curvey spoiler, hood scoop and SS wheels on there and there's no mistake. That baby is made for speed. When I spot that little silver snake on the side of a new Mudstain I want to see what it's got.
I'm still waiting to find a stock GT or Cobra that can take me out. I've been beat by a more than a few GTs at the track. But they were all very tricked out cars.
I wouldn't have a regular Z28. Not to sound snobbish. I just think they look plain. The hood is all smooth. The rear has no character. The wheels are so so. I do like the TAs though. They have a lot more style than the Z28's. But I'd rather have headlights that don't move. Everybody has their own preferences. I don't regret 'wasting' that $3,500 that I could have spent on mods to a Z28. I like it just the way it is.
It definately is the car of my dreams.

Before my SS I had a '95 formula with a cowl hood which I never got any compliments. Now driving around with my SS, especially at the track, I attract alot of attention.
However I dont like posers who change badges or do conversions.
