I am saying it brings air to the intake but the hood is not sealed to the intake.

I don't even see how that is possible. The air comes in through the front of the car.. there's no opening on the top of the engine for air to come through anywhere near the hood... especially not around the scoop

The air travels up the hood back down and
exists under the lid and filter, where the
four square holes are. Don't know what more
you want, cars don't really come with circular
air cleaners anymore for the inlet to dump into
right at the center. We don't have exactly have
top mounted carbs.

thats why the WS6 is more effecient cause its
in front of the air lid and direct but GM chose form
over function(thankfully) I mean where would you
put the SS scoop right where the Ultra Z opening
is, how bad would that look. Futhermore its no
coincidence that's where the Ultra's opening is.

As far the SS hood's ability, GM engineers have stated
it does next to nothing unless near or above 100 MPH
as not enough air is forced in without such resisitance.

My 6 speed?

I love it

All my previous cars were automatics: 78 Z28 (still own), 92 Z28, 95 Z28, 85 Corvette.

Now that I have a stick in my SS, I wouldn't go back to an auto; The M6 seems more "fun".

This post comes up atleast once a month please do a search.

The hoods are nothing more then a cold air intake. It may say ram air, but i think that it had more to do with marketing then anything. Besides ramair is almost useless, unless ur traveling at speeds of over 100 miles per hour. A cold air intake serves a much more practical purpose.

Next we will hear how the WS6 is faster then the SS
