SS VS. WS6 comparision
#6
The looks is mostly opinion.
Since Ive had both an ls1 ss and ws6, I'll tell you about what I liked and didn't.
The things better about the ws6 is it comes with power antenna, round attractive AC vents, WAY better seats with lumbar and a side squeezing function, and the hood can actual ram air while the SS hood can never really be.
A lot of people say they dont like the looks of the newer ws6s - that they look too slutty. I think red91tsiawd just had a good way of putting it: "the SS is sleeker, the ws6 is meaner" The SS looks more distinguished, and the ws6 looks like something that will hand you your ***.
The rims are better on the newer SS. The ws6 rims say "abs" on the center cap, what kinda **** is that?
Oh, my ws6 also came with an equalizer ... not sure if that is standard or not.
After someone totaled my SS, I replaced it with a ws6, so its obvious which I prefer.

Weight difference is negligible at best. If you are worried about weight get a stripper Z28 or formula. The seats are better in the trans-am as mentioned above. I like the whole red glow of the pontiac guage cluster better too. Personal preference.

I havent seen actual numbers, but the ws6 has to be heavier (though not by much) . By the way, popular mechanics did an article a couple years ago on the 13 fastest production cars, and the firebird was a couple cars quicker than the camaro. The article said it was funny, being as how they are practicly twins ... but said the design was just a tad better for the firebird.

30th anniversary eh? I never was a fan of making muscle cars funky colors. To me, nothing on the road looks meaner than a red or black ws6 ... but despite color preference ... its a bad motha chuckin car and you're making a good choice. Good luck in the search, it took me a while to find mine after the SS died.

Found 4 threads for you and I'm sure there are more.
My 2 cents? Both are nice. Wouldn't mind owning either one, but I'm still happy with my Z28.
