Question SS and Z28 cpu's, THE SAME??

OK, I am thinking about swaping out my M6 for a A4. Going to put in a built 4L60e. I was just going to swap out the cpus. Now, do I need to find an auto SS or can I use a Z28 instead? Let a brother know!

thanks in advance!

I would think so long as they have similar options from the same model year that it wouldn't matter. They'd both need to have the same rearend ratio, etc. Technically, the VIN will be wrong in the PCM. If someone reflashed the SS PCM back to the stock program for the M6 during troubleshooting, it might cause a hassle.

what could I use to flash the PCM to A4? Can you do that with a tech II? I have a couple of friends that work at a GM dealership so I could get my hands on one. Also, I heard you need the wiring harness to goto the 4L60e, where does the other end plug into? Are there just unused plugs sitting somewhere coming from the PCM?

sorry I guess they're stupid questions, but I don't know, hehe!

THANKS!
