Stainless steal or Ceramic coating for headers?

Which one is better? Is there really a big
difference between them?

Oh, my bad!!!! I know jet-hot isn't a coating, they're a company that uses a certain kind of coating, sorry about that!!!! But whatever coating it is that Jet-Hot uses, I love it!!!!!! My headers look sweet!!!!!! By the way Dave, my exhaust is about to go on within the next week or two, and then i'll be saving for the cam, so i'll probably get in touch with you about it by the end of feb or a little later. A little off schedule, but what am I gonna do! I really wanted it by the end of Jan, but just won't have the funds!

And worse comes to worse, I have my birthday coming up in april !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've also heard that a lot of other coatings don't last as long, not sure if that's true, that's just what i've heard from a few buddy's with different coatings on there headers. I haven't heard one complaint yet from any of my friends with headers jet-hot coated.

A cousin had them on his Regal for about a year and only put 3,000 miles on the car and its peeling and rusting.

I hear a lot of good things about them too.
Wow, that sucks!!!!

Headers are not made of stainless steel, but it has been rumored that someone is planning on making them. Someone made a post over at LS1tech.com about SS headers, the consensus was that SS is a higher quality metal so that is why they don't need to be coated, and if you want to shine them up, just go over them with mothers aluminum polish. Good luck

Nah....I know there is no such thing as stainless steal coating, but I didn't know all headers are made with stainless steal. I heard ceramic can stratch or scrap off pretty easily going over speed bumps. With stainless steal will heat make the floor of my interior hot? Will more heat be introduced the engine compartment? I need to make a decision already. I want my headers on before feb 15th(sat midnight madness) and then my cam soon after for slp event in orlando on 3/29.

Hurry up and register.

It's not a rumor that's why I posted the question. I actually spoke to the maker today, but he said he is only letting callers find out. I am ordering mine soon. I can't let the cat out of the bag, cuz it's not my place to do so.

I have owned 2 sets of headers both JET HOT coated and I've never had any probs. Plus they re-coat them for free if you have any probs.

SLP lt's are fabricated from stainless steel then ceramic coated. Stainless is a superior material to regular carbon steel because of it's greater resistance to heat, corrossion, and thermal stressing.
