You cant belive it ? why not ? I dont see how thats so hard to belive ! If you test the same car on 2 different days , the weather alone is going to make the times different . If you tested them at 2 different tracks , the times would be different . Just like all test's there are varibles . Belive it , I have seen the same magazines test the same kind of car 3 times and every time have something way different from the first
Variables like
-driver
-track condition
-weather
you could even have to auto's with 2 different sets of gears .
There are so many things that could make the times diferent its not even funny . Besides 2 identical cars wont always run the same . When i had my 94 formula my best friend had a camaro that was the same exact year and setup , neither had any mods . mine had less miles but his , being the same car , left mine in the dust ...

I've read in numerous magazines and websites that the Formula and WS6 get WAY better traction than the Z28 and SS. And I've seen it in person as well

Funny, I've seen the exact opposite. Let the pissing match begin.

Bottomline, it's basically the same damn car when it comes down to everything besides appearance. So what you are seeing is the driver factor. Camaro/Firebird are capable of the exact same times, it's up the the driver/weather/track conditions/elevation/blah blah blah on what runs what.

I got a 93 motor trend road test on a 6 speed camaro that ran a 0-60 in 5.4

http://www.pr.streetracing.org/whats_new.html#Chevrolet

theres one that ran a 5.7 on here , take a look. Oh and one that ran a 5.3 , yeah its a LT1 . not one on here ran over 5 seconds .

http://www.pr.streetracing.org/whats_new.html#Pontiac

read this one , there is many w/LT1 birds running 5's

this one shows a , what is this ? OMG an LT1 super sport running a 5.2 ? Why yes it is !
http://www.angelfire.com/pa3/ford/performance1.htm
scroll down and youll find a few more LT1 birds running 0-60 in 5 seconds and most of these tests are modest . My 175K LT1 will run 0-60 in 5 or better "w sticky tires " easily ...

Sub 5 seconds means below 5, not in the 5's LOL. A 4.8 would be a "sub 5 second 0-60 time".

Regardless, the average 0-60 for LT1s is usually around the higher 5 second range, ie 5.7 seconds. The 5.2 is a freak time, like the few LS1s that have run 12.8 bone stock in the 1/4.

[/QUOTEBTW , any 6 speed w/good traction can get a low 5 second time .the only thing keeping most of them from it is traction

Sub 5 = Under 5. Could be 4.6 seconds or 4.9 seconds. I know that LT1 vettes usually run 0-60 in 5.2-5.4 seconds. Anyway, where in Kentucky are you at? I'm in Lexington at UK.

I'll create a post on which has better traction, WS6 or SS.

just to add something on topic, i have pulled on lots of ta's and ws6's. they are almsot the same cars, it is pretty much all driver.

sub 5 seconds is BELOW 5 seconds, not around 5 seconds like one guy thought. go ask your math teacher.
