Stock 2002 SS - Mods???

I've got a 2002 SS T56 with 29k on the odometer. She's got the SLP intake and exhaust package from the factory, but otherwise completely stock mechanically.

I just want to do some cheaper mods (maybe $3k total in mods). So what should I do?

I'm thinking of buying SLP's Bilstein/Eibach shocks/springs set for $700. These will also lower the car an inch .

A strut tower brace. Any suggestions?

A cam. I need some suggestions, and maybe estimated labor costs?

Thanks in advance!

Also thinking of a SLP MAF sensor and smooth bellow, which together total $165.

This is the wrong forum to ask about suspension mods, we have a forum for that. Post your questions there and you'll get way more/better input.

As for the engine questions Skip the MAF and bellows as they are a waste of $$.
Long tube headers get good gains. Search this forum for ''cam'' and read the threads, get some ideas, then come back to this thread, and ask specific questions.
Some things to keep in mind is that to do a cam change you'll need new valve springs, pushrods, and you should change to a ported oil pump and new LS2 timing change while you're in there. Then to get it running really good you'll need a good dyno tune that will happen in the Flint or Detroit area and cost around $500.

Where are you in West MI?

sub-frame connectors, headers and a cutout keep the cat back as is so it can be somewhat quite or open when you want it to loud.

Thanks for the advice. I never know what forum to post general questions like this in.

The cam swap sounds somewhat complicated. I'm not a mechanic, although I can do most basic stuff. Think I could do the cam myself, or should I pay a shop?

I'm about 30 minutes north of Muskegon, in a little town called Whitehall.

LS1 How To

Go to LS1 How To. Their website has a cam swap, step by step instruction link. I used it on my first LS1 Cam swap and plan on using it again mid year next year to make sure I don't forget anything. I'm not that mechanically smart but have done it successfully. If you have a decent selection of tools and a friend to help you it's not that bad. Took me about a day and a half and 2 cases of beer.

If you look at the instructions and don't feel comfortable then maybe think about paying someone.
