Stock LS1 M6 1/4 mi times

Re: Stock LS1 M6 1/4 mi times
Basically, tell your Dad to stop driving like a grandpa!!!!!!! (and put some stickier tires on the back to cut those 2.2 60' times down to 1.9's or better
Also remember that with the M6 gearbox stickier tires = broken diff parts depending on how spirited your driving style is. I'm running a stock 2000 SS M6, 4.10s, Auburn with Nitto 555 extreme DRs and it spit out two teeth from the spider gears in just two "good track" days. Auburn went from new to needing a good dental plan real quick...1.80 60' times. Shure was fun while it lasted. The 10 bolt is for sale in the Michigan section.

Time is in sig, car was 100% stock at the time. Wish i could have gotten back to the track one or 2 more times before i put the headers, lid, and MAF on, i know i could have knocked another .1 or 2 off before i started moding. Oh well too bad, so sad, i couldnt wait any longer to mod it

I run a bone stock 13.1@108..
#1 every car is different
#2 learn to drive YOUR car before modding it
#3 remember weather, track conditions and weight play a role in everything.
Here is what I have gathered in my time with Fbods.. With gas weighing about 6lbs a gallon and the tank holding 16 (16x6= 96lbs) I would rather have that sitting over my rear tires and have traction off the line as well as not having any slosh. Ya know with a 1/4 tank you will have a 30lb weight sloshing back there.. that cant be good for forward momentum. Do not do a burnout unless you have tires that benefit from them - such as Drag Radials. Street tires get warm by driving not by burning... better to run the tire to the track.. My trip is 60+ miles. I dont spin. I launch at 4000+ and I get so much traction my clutch wont grab... Thats nuts.. but its how Yokohama AVS ES100s work for me. The GS-C's worked well at the track as well but I do think the Yokos are a tad stickier.
Learning to drive may take a few tenths off his/your time and that in the long run, will be priceless..
I bracket raced my car and made it to the semis... I believe consitancy is what you shoot for and knowing what you car will do and how it will perform..
Good Luck!
(I have 0 mods. NO Lid No aftermarket air filter nothing!)

I wont ever use Auburn. I totatlly trashed a set on the street showing my dad what all my car was capable of (when I had my LT1)..
That sucked so bad..
Strange is all I would use to replace them now... Lucky for me, my 2002 is still going strong!

13.1 is a very nice time. My 13.4, i think , is very respectable for an 00. You have the benefit of the LS6 intake, and no egr, possibly an ls6 block as well (Probably 8-10 RWHP more then me). I may have been able to cut it down to 13.3 with a perfect run, but i basically know what it will do, and wanted to start modding. Very nice run, i wish i had an 01-02, but oh well.
