Fine, with an automatic the stock shift points are set at about ~5800 RPM, but if I shift the car manually (before adjusting with the Hypertech) then I could hold the shifts out beyond 6000 RPM.

And for any dis-believers that a stock LS1 can't do a 12.xxx, maybe I haven't actually seen it either, but I don't doubt it. Look at my 1/4 mile times (with 2.73's or now 4.10's).....the times w/2.73's were on crappy tires, vs. with the 4.10's now, I've got tires that hook really well. SO, the power is getting put to the ground. If my car were an M6, which uses less engine power, then I'd probably be able to get my car to hit a 12.xxx AS LONG AS I COULD SHIFT!
Pete...call a Tuner and ask them what the stock parameters are on a LS1 in an F-bod..its not 6200 . Your car will not run that high RPM's stock . Wont do it ! I have seen the stock parameters Myself more then once . IM not going to argue from this point . Find out yourself .

Find a GM tech site and find out for your self . Thats one reason why people buy hypertech . The stock setting is like 5800 or 5900 Bye default . Just the facts man .
You sir are wrong. All LS1 F-bodys have a 6190 rpm redline. Actual rev limit. LT1 cars won't rev that high but LS1s do. This is a common known fact and has been so for many years.
Your source of info is erronious.

Wrong. LT1s are limited to ~ 5850 from the factory and LS1s 6200. Believe what you want.

You are correct!! The clutch has gotta go. The nitto drag radials were hooking up like a dream, and the best 60' I got all night was a 2.06! I ran better last year with my street tires!! The clutch is junk!! My best run of the night was in the high 13.60's! You can feel it giving way on the launch and everytime you hit the next gear really hard! I am going to sell the nitto's now to start the fund for clutch replacement

The two times I was on the dyno my car was revved to 6k rpm so the rev limiter must be 6200. The car made great power all the way up to 6k.

13.74@104.42 that was at 35 PSI all the way around. (02 Z28 6 speed) This Friday I'm going to drop the rear pres. to 25 PSI and see if I can get any better.

Re: Stock LS1 M6 1/4 mi times

I managed a 13.08 @ 106 on a 90+ degree day, and did a burnout on street tires. I didn't know any better at the time, and it was fun. Car was bone stock, crappy factory tires, paper filter, and a lot of gas in the tank. Not bad for my first time at the track. I got it down from a 13.42, to a 13.23, 13.10, and finally my 13.08. I'm positive I could have hit 12's in my stock 98, but we'll never know.

I'd say 18-20psi if you want them to grab a little better. Some people say go lower, but then you risk spinning the tire off the wheel-- and at high speeds, that's bad.

Yeah, thats why I was feeling like playing it safe going with 25, but I'll give that a try 20-22 after that if I don't feel the improvement. I just don't feel right going below 20.. Like you say bad things could happen.

There is a guy here who ran a 13.2 in a stock 00 Formula and with lid and free mods ran a 12.8@108. With nothing more then a few bolt on's on a cold azzz night he ran a 12.6. Stock gears/cam/headers. I seen it.
