My stock shifter sometimes throws me out of 3rd and occasionally out of 1st or won't let me shift into 1st unless I let off the clutch and push it back in. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Would getting a Pro 5.0 or a B&M help? I want to get the Pro 5.0 but I have they are noisy which I don't like. What should I do?

 

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like you need some trans work.ie syncros and blocking rings.

 

Damn, how much should that set me back?

 

I've been hearing $400 for parts + labor.

 

Mine is kicking me out of 2nd and 3rd gears. I just installed a pro 5.0 made no difference, excpte for it does it a little worse now. Because it doesn't allow me to over shift at all. I went by the trans. shop and they quoted me at about $1100 thats if I don't need any new gears !!!! And yes the pro 5.0 is loud, but man you will love it!!!! I installed mine with the lou's short stick. It reminds me of my friends S2000 if you've ever felt there shifters!!! IT IS SWEET!!! It isn't much louder when just normal driving, but when you start getting up above 3k rpms, it starts getting loud.
