Is there an ls2?

Recently I purchased a 96 z28 ragtop. then a friend of mine buys the 2002 z28/ss ragtop. anyway we were talking engines and such the he tells me his is an ls2 engine. I was like wtf are you talking about. anyway is there such an engine as an ls2 because I did not think so.

Thanks,
Ed

If it's an '02 Z28 or SS, he's got the LS1, never heard of an LS2, but we can only pray for one some day!

Hes either a Liar or an Idiot..

Also FYI

The LS2 is the Gen4 small block.. based off the Gen3 LS series motors.. they will come in 6.0 litre form in the 05 c6 vette.

this is the same motor that can shut down cyl's.. called displacement on demand.

they are not out yet.. isnt an option.. and his dad cant know someone at gm that got him one..

And armed with phantoms information I can crush him. Just to bad his car is still faster then mine.

Thumbs up

Lastest word is that the Gen IV small block will either be called a LS2 or a L68 because it's 368 cubic inches(6.0L).

That tech is still 10 years away.

It won't be a LS2.

he may have it confused with the fact that the LS1 changed in 2001 to add more off the line power.

There is a option on the newer Vettes that are going to come out has a 42 volt charging system and a Camless motor that will be run by Solenoids and or Actuators but that was a Concept Car, I just found that out by calling 1-800-Chev-USA

Not on any Vette currently in production there isn't. Doesn't matter how much money you've got.

Maybe you meant in a few years?
