so i've heard that there are coolant passages running thru the throttle bodies on LSx engines. Is that tru? (i have a 3.8 now so i cant run out to my car and see) If its true, then i'd REALLY like to know why GM ran coolant passages thru there. I mean, it makes sense to keep the air cooler, so what was the point in doin that? just curious...

 

Helps the car warm up in the winter. Robs horsepower.... ya know. I am not sure if the ls series engines had this, but the lt1's did.

Yes, LS1's have them. You can by pass them without any problems.

 

Its bypassed in my LS1 and my wife's 3400.

 

bypassed...took 15 minutes

 

Bypassed it here, started fine in the winter. Only started car once a month during winter but still fine nevertheless.
