Hey Teke, Studytime or whoever else who might know. How much will this cam hurt my gas mileage? If anybody knows I would love to know because I drive my car alot.

Exhaust valve closing has a large impact on milage. By this reason the 230/224 would yield better milage than a 230/230 and make more power (on an LS1) to boot.

I'd expect to loose a mpg or two in your city driving, but highway milage should stay close to what it currently is. That's with a good tune though.

Please keep us posted.

Re: TR230 cam???

Ben,

You really think Thunder designed those Comp Cams they sell? Or do you think they just pick and choose a combination of available lobes that the company designed and sell them?

Yep, each and every shop that sells cams spend years doing math and testing to come up with those profiles. After they have a cam profile they then call a company like Comp or Lunati and make them agree to only sell that one cam to them and nobody else. See I know this because I worked at Ramchargers for 5 years and we had a super computer, and 5 retired guys from NASA design our cams.

Yes I am being sarcastic. All the cams come from the same couple of companies. Each and everyone one of those cams can be reproduced by calling said cam company and giving them the lobe number you want. Just an FYI

On a side note, my cam is a 236/236 .602/.602 110ls
