A friend bought a 2000 TA and it has a tremac M6 in it. Is this stock or not? The car has a 12 bolt, nittos and all other bolt on so I was not sure if this was stock or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Tremec is now supplying GM with the T-56, I think I heard somewhere that Borg-Warner got bought out by Tremec, but I'm not sure if that is true or not.

 

Exactly right T-56 is Tremic they are now the mfg for them.

 

i dunno if there is any truth to this but i heard the older ones with the borg warner are/were stronger than the tremic ones, but i read it on the internet so i dunno if it is true or not.

 

Thats true...the borg warner version was basically the same tranny that was put in the viper. Now they've got the same older tranny for the viper...but the newer one starting in 98 for the f bods was redesigned to be more cost effecient for tremec and in doing so they dont put the same materials in them.

 

thought so, like using plastic instead of metal for some things, if i am correct.
