Question Trying to find a squeek and a grind

When I drive the car I hear a light, rapid pulsating squeek coming from the trunk area. There is nothing in there, but the sound is annoying as hell . Anyone know what this could be.

I also have this grinding noise coming from the front end of the car when I engage in 1st gear after letting go of the clutch. This sound only happens in the morning when I go to work and when I get off work. This isn't the tranny lugging noise your used to, it's different. Anyone have any ideas?

I too have the squeky rear. I am pretty sure it is a bad wheel bearing. I tried to remove it but couldnt, so just loaded it up with grease. After the grease wore away, the squeaking came back, or at least I think thats that happened. Whe I lightly brake, the squaking goes away. Is it like this for you? Maybe we have the same problem.

Ya, I have that issue, I posted on your previous thread about it. I'm gonna look at it this weekend. But this squeak seems to be coming from the trunk. I even hear it when I don't hear the rear driver wheel squeak.

As for the clutch noise, i had that issue allready. I got all sorts of replies suggesting an impropper use of grease on through out bearing. How many miles do you have on your car/clutch. I had that issue for about a year and 10,000 miles. what it turned out to be on my car -was an early warning sign of the clutch going. In the months to follow the clutch began to slip. The noise was tracked down to the pressure plate on my car, that was colapsing in on itself. It was clutch time anyway, so i got the new one in there and no more noise. Just my experiance. Hope that helps and not hurts you wallet.

Gearslammer, funny you say that. About a month ago I got a flat tire on the left driver rear. Well it shredded the tire and I had goodyear put another one on. Well I noticed that they stored my jack with the spare instead of putting it in the place GM made for it. So I'm gonna fix that tonight.

As for the clutch, which clutch should I get when it goes T1Ts up? I noticed that the SLP costs more than the Mcleod ones. $800 sound right for a clutch. I saw a stage 1 clutch with flywheel on ls1speed.com for $450 or so. What do yall think?

Price of the clutch will all depen on the clutch and if you have it installed or drop it in yourself. 800 sounds about in line for a good clutch like SLP.

I've been doing some research and I see a lot of SPeC ST3 followers, so I'll probably do that when the time comes. Thanks for the replies. This is my first V8 badass, it's pretty new, and there's nothing like a squeek to get you down in the dumps. heheh

Welp I am a happy camper today. I found both squeeks in the back. Gearslammer: the one in the trunk was the spare. The external one that Ferocity02 said he has probs with was fixed by replacing pads and tinkering around with the emergeny brake. Nor more squeeks

I was also able to finish my plug and wire install. Finished the rear two passenger plugs today. #8 is overated. I was able to get it in 10min from underneath. However, the one in front of it, I think #6, was a PITA. But I got it, and that car is running really good now. :happydance: Thanks for all the suggestions!!
