Question Tune?

I just installed my Kooks race headers, Kooks ORY, and a magnaflow catback. I also deleted my EGR and AIR. The car runs great but I know LT make the car run rich. My question is how long can i go for with out a tune???????? Can I damage anything while going WOT?? thnks Eddie

Misconception. LT's make the car lean out. Actually, any mod that helps the engine breath easier will lean it out. The fuel trims try to make up for it and richen the AFR back up some. But, I have seen cases where cars are actually lean at WOT.

A good tuner will help clear up some of the AFR issues, get you ~10hp (typical gains), and kill any codes/adjust fans/adjust shift pressures/etc.

Do you have any kind of a scan tool available to use?? If so drive the car 10-15 miles varing between 50-60 and using 3rd and 4th gear. If the long term fuel trims stay less than 15-20 then you could drive it without hurting it. If the LTFTs max out (25) then it must be tuned.
Now with that said. Your best bet is, as stated above, get it tuned and get the codes turned off. The car will run noticably better.

yeah, make sure you take it real easy...It'll blow up if you don't...lol

Get a tune, it'll help a great deal with a tune...Better yet, buy a cam right now and install it as soon as you get it, then get a tune...
