Tuneup - where is fuel filter? PCV?
This spring I will be doing a tune up, I have 90k miles, and I don't know if plugs and wires have been changed. I am getting NGK plugs and some thundervolt wires..........I might as well get a fuel filter too, because I don't know of its status. I bought the car with 82k on it and don't know of the car's past. I already did transmission fluid. Anyways, where is fuel filter located on these cars? Under the car? Near the gas tank? What about a PCV valve or whatever? Where is it? I used to have a GREAT website for repairing these cars and doing everything on them, but the site is now gone. Good thing I at least snatched up thier trouble code list for the OBDII. I am also going to flush the coolant, because I don't know if that has been done either. The damn battery looks stock too from the dealer, as I don't see a date on it. Am I missing anything for regular maintenance? Belt looks fine for now......and I guess I will get some autozone rotors later on because I can tell mine are starting to look like crap. What are some good pads BTW? Whatever the dealer put on when I got the car last year makes so much dust it's nasty. Thanks for the help.

PCV is located on the passenger side valve cover. You can locate it by following the hoses to it.
The fuel filter I believe is on the drivers side. It's located near the rear wheel well where the floor pan curves up towards the fuel tank. Just follow the fuel lines.

The stock PVC on a 98 LS1 will be laying in the crevice between the valve cover and the intake manifold on the passenger side. It is wrapped in black foam and tape.
If you're burning oil you may want to consider the LS6 PCV and/or catchcan upgrade at the same time.
Hard to say what else. Hub bearings, alignment, other fluids, top end cleaner. I like the Hawk HPS pads but they do dust a bit in the front.
