Question The Ultimate Cat-Back System: Corsa....?

I've been reading about cat-back exhaust systems for the 4th generation f-body here and on other forums related to the f-body for a while now. I have heard all of the exhaust sound clips and seen pictures of all the exhaust tips. The exhaust system in which seems to be praised upon the most for the late model f-body is the Corsa Cat-back system. The tips look amazing and from what I've heard, they sound the best.

I'm finally getting to the point where I'm going to order a Corsa system for my 2002 Z28.

Please every Corsa runner, please give your opinion based on your experience with Corsa.

Hows the build quality? How does it fit? Any durability/reliability issues based on your experience? Is it worth the $$$ in your opinion? How does it look in person? Any problems whatsoever with this system in particular? What kind of gains can one get from just the cat-back alone?

Thanks.

well I know of one person that has broken theirs 2 times I think..
Thats 2 times more than I think is needed..

They do sound kewl but you already have a cut out so you probably wont see any gains from this.. Just a lighter wallet.

Personally, I would rather get a quiet single 3" or larger muffler with a small turndown dump.. stealth like...

Question Corsa.....

To me money isn't an issue when it comes getting the best for my car. I could have had a cat-back system a long time ago but I decided to save and wait to get a Corsa system. The tips look the best in my opinion from what I've seen and based on all the clips I've heard, Corsa sounds the best in my opinion. And I'm not happy with the sound of the cutout. Sure, with the cut-out my car sounds better than stock but it is by no means a Corsa cat-back system.

I just want to know of the build and fit quality of the Corsa system. I want to know if there are any problems with this system?

I know of the one guy who blew two system. Thats one person. I want to know if this is common or a just a rare case. There are always going to be exceptions, I want to know if that is common.

Thanks.

Depends upon what you want performance or appearance. I also have friend that blew out teh Corsa muffler.

Performance wise they are about good as anyone else ... except they weigh a ton. If you're building a cruiser they're probably fine. If you are going for all out performance, that 's a lot weight to be carrying around.

Question ????

I appreciate your opinion but I just read in Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine that they got almost a .3 tenths of a second gain in the 1/4 mile and 15 rwhp from just a Corsa cat-back alone so it isn't really a question of performance. I already know it sounds, looks, as far I know performs nice. I just want to make sure that the Corsa system is just as durable if not more durable than all the other cat-backs available????

Can I get any responses from people who actually run a Corsa cat-back on their rides??? Where did all you Corsa lovers run off to????

That does suck, but they are warrantied forever. I love mine, no problems fit or finish; sounds great, no resonace on the highway.

I looked at them all when i was shopping and money was no issue but in the end i liked the magnaflow the best. The differences in performace are very small so just pick the one that sounds good to you

Female Corsa owner here...
Hows the build quality? Excellent

How does it fit? Fit was great

Any durability/reliability issues based on your experience? I had a crack in the muffler by the outlet pipe. They replaced it for nothing and paid for the shipping of it back. No questions asked. A rep. did see it at a show I was attending. Carlisle,PA.

Is it worth the $$$ in your opinion? Most definately

How does it look in person? I love it. I get compliments on it all the time. Even the students at my work love it (6-8th graders)

Any problems whatsoever with this system in particular? Just one mentioned above, but it's all taken care of.

What kind of gains can one get from just the cat-back alone? That I don't know. I was going to get my car Dynoed this weekend but it got cancled.

I hope this helps.

Hey, I've got a corsa, and LOVE the sound. My only regret, is that I met up with someone who has the GMMG. I think the GMMG sounds nicer, but the corsa looks MUCH nicer IMO. I'm officially getting my FLP headers put on in a couple weeks. I can't WAIT to see how it sounds after the headers. I'm psyched. I haven't had any problems with my exhaust. You'll prob. love it. The tips (High polished) do seem to show carbon dust quick, but keep it clean, and it's beautiful. I got pics in my sig. Later.

Another Corsa owner here. I have ZERO complaints with the system. I have however heard about the problems some were running into with build issues and it sounds like a bunch of bad ones went out to the public. I have also heard about Corsa's willingness to warranty the product they sell and the extent they go to, to keep the customer happy.

I got one of the first systems from Corsa (definitely first in Hawaii) and I have nothing but good things to say. It sounds great, looks great, and from installing it myself I can attest to the superior fit & finish. I had the whole system up in less than 30 minutes. Everything fits great....check the sig for pics!
