Post valvetrain mod?

I was talking to a guy yesterday and he was telling me his mods on his 2001 SS. He mentioned something about a new valvetrain. I was wondering what a new valvetrain will do, the horsepower increase, and the cost?

he was probably talking about cam, pushrods lifters, rockers, valves, springs, retainers, etc..

Basically, your changing how the exhaust and intake valves open, to get more air and fuel in and out, making more hp..

just pick up any book that describes a 4 stroke OHV engine.
