Red face Weird A4 transmission glitch - anybody else ever have something like this ?

I drove thru some hard rain on Saturday - 3.5" in 45 minutes, to give you an idea ! - on the freeway. I was never able to get above 30 mph. When I hit my exit, fine - pulled off and into the driveway I needed. Did some business, and had to get back in the car 5 - 10 mintes later to move it.

It acted like it was running on 4 cylinders !! Stumbling, bucking in forward gears but idling smooth as silk !

It's never done anything like that before !!

So, I moved it & parked it - 15 minutes later, I come out to leave & it does the same thing. As I am 1/2 way out the driveway, all of the sudden Poof ! it fixed itself & has not done it since.

Any theories ?

One guy thought maybe the electronics got wet, and I wonder if the tranny being in "OD" yet never hitting the speed to kick the torque converter lock-in (40 MPH) somehow heated the tranny up, spazzing it.

I have a Vigilante 2800 stall.

Thanks for the help !!

Britt
