What are the differences between the 98-99-00-01-02 LS1's

I'm buying a Camaro SS this week. I'm planning on buying a 2002 for around $23k. Anyways, I just wanted to see if anyone can tell me what the differences are with the LS1's from 98-02. Thanks in advance.

While you don't give details about the car, I can't imagine a stock 2002 SS being worth 23K

If I were to sell mine, I wouldn't take less than that.

Stock SS convertable with 6200 miles in immaculate shape.... yea $23K on the retail market (obviously not trade/wholesale numbers) and I would have to think hard about it.

You should be able to find an '02 SS for $16K with under 50K on the odometer. Maybe $18K if it's a fully loaded convertible.

What's so special about this one that it justifies $23K?

It doesnt matter about the SS being 23k or whatever, but it's only some I've looked at. I want one with around 10-20k miles and they're around that price, depends what kind of options it has.

Why would you want a car that hasn't been driven? That's just begging for problems.

I was at a car show the other day... there was a 35th anniversary SS convertible with 600 miles on it.

Why problems if it hasn't been driven? I mean, I know it's not good for a car to sit in a place and not be driven a long time, but it's not good to buy a ragged on car either.

Dried up gaskets and seals... increased odds of metal-on-metal wear...

It's just bad. Cars should be driven. I have very little respect for people that don't drive their cars.

I agree. It is stupid to have a sports car and not drive it because it's a "sports car" and it should sit in the garage.

It would be different if they were still in production. That is the whole thing for me. Firebird days are probably gone for good. My 98 is at 55K miles right now. Just difference in people I guess.

So because they're not making them anymore, you've decided not to enjoy yours as much as possible?

It just doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah i have a buddy that has a 02 firehawk- it never leaves the gararge!! I think cars should be driven too, but it really pisses me off to see a nice camaro etc. driven in the winter snow, ice,SALT. It should be in the garage then.
