Re: What do you think

When you pass off incorrect info as being "correct", you can expect people to give you heat for it.

Re: What do you think

"ps teke i wasn't talking about you but since you are wanting to be the put down i guess it can apply to you to...........you seem to like to be put down.........it gets u excited.... "

but but...i bet i can bench more than you!!!

and and...i bet my E-**** is 2x as long as yours...

ANYWAY....

seems like most of this arguement...more like pissing match...started when you cited a bunch of wrong information....like prices...

and when we all tried to tell you that there was no way you'd accomplish what you wanted with the prices you listed....you basically called us idiots.

oh...wait...you actually did some research and found out we were RIGHT, and you swallowed your pride and admitted it.

and when you gave incorrect information about parts and mods, and we tried to correct you....once again you jumped on us for being rude and stupid.

now i'll admit some of us..including me...dished out some sarcasm. but we all do it...comes with the whole internet message board thing...
but you turned right around and dished it back, and i would say with more insulting intent. telling us that we don't know what we're talking about. when we've been at this game alot longer and more involved. most of us have DONE some of the things you talk about...when you seem to only know about it from reading it in Hot Rod or talking to your mechanic buddy. cause we all know EVERY mechanic knows everything about every car.

do i like being put down....no

does it bother me to be insulted over the internet...hell no

does it invoke my whitty, sarcastic and arguementative side....OH YEAH

but through all this...i think i and others have in fact given some interesting and helpfull information. but it's hard to give good information when the topic is so broad and non-specific.

i hope this thread gets locked soon....

i suggest you take some of the information we've given you...and ask more specific questions.

you'd have to replace just about everything in the driveline. clutch, trans, driveshaft, rear end.
not to mention a roll cage to keep from twisting the car like a cork screw.

Teke look at your quote.

it is the third post and your second post on this thread............you answered first..........do you think "did you actually look up real pistons and stroke" was nice.

you don't think that was a be condecending........?

How about in your first post where you casually accused me of doing whats "neat" with everyone else............

But wait i am the one being rude first i am not getting defensive i am just being offensive right?.......

Do you read your own post dude...........

How about you learn to ask probing questions without being a **** about it.

You might need examples........."I don't understand what you're trying to do, are you blah, blah, blah"

thats better than how you kicked off the responses to my threads

Your right i forgot about the lt1>>>ls1 price difference....doesn't mean i have not held a vented...ohhh that's right that makes everyone mad......i mean lightweight flywheel and installed it in a lt1 this a kevlar clutch and an lt4 pressure plate.

I love the psychological taht you try to play..........

"ohh i was just trying to help.........don't be mad at me it you don't know what your talking about adn that i have no manners and think i am better than you cause i have posted more than you and you ovelooked one thing in pricing" which by the way i said is not the most important thing.

teke..........i have been told by others that this is your thing you argue with newbies........why don't you stop trying to find people where you can act like you are a hot shot and let the peopel who are not going to drive people, no matter how confused or mistaken they are, from GM, fbodies, and most importantly this site.

Look back at after i listed my mods..........

the post are filled with condecending replies..........there was no "well that might work , but what i am familiar with is........."

just slam after slam.........

so yes i got defensive..........but people only get defensive when they' re offended.......so try and stop offending new members to this site an to gm in general.............ok

Re: What do you think

Hell, I dish out sarcasm and condescension to everyone reguardless of age, sex, race, creed, or species. I'm an equal opportunity offender!!! If I find it funny I'm going to laugh. The problem is that you defend stuff like "vented flywheels" after you've been told they don't exist. Sorry, but that is funny.

As for the more f-body owners = more aftermarket. Umm....there is a set amount of 4th gen f-bodies. They have all been made and no more will be made. In fact, less are on the road daily due to wrecks. So over time there will inevitably be fewer owners.

Here is a nice sentiment. If you feel everyone is picking on you like a big nostril, maybe its because you have a floater that needs taken care of....

I don't mind that but if i am going to get grilled for defending myself and turned it the bad guy i feel i should keep things in perspective.

Re: What do you think

Do you guys talk to people at car shows like this........?

If someone asks a question you automatically treat them as a rookie.........if you do, maybe you should stop, people aren't going to join a club where members are constantly fighting over who is the smart/wiser/more experienced.

I have done engine swaps........trans rebuilds.........rear replacements.......clutch upgrades.........rediator upgrades......just because my numbers are not right for the ls1 which I AM NEW TOO, does not mean i need you talk to me like an idiot.

Let me put into perspective

I am music major........ask me a question about music...........now let me say "have you even picked up the guitar and tried to play" Or how bout ooh i have never seen a viola' (early spanish guitar) so it must not be real..........

If you want to talk about music i can make you look like and idiot too.......

Of course my first two years of college where mechanical so i am not a rookie.......just new to ls1 that's it............

Re: What do you think

"you don't think that was a be condecending........?"

not really....wouldn't be the first time someone combined a couple numbers to come up with a displacement...expecting there to be every possible combination of oversized pistons and cranks to make that displacement.

that was...in all honesty...one of my more sincere questions.

"How about in your first post where you casually accused me of doing whats "neat" with everyone else."

you'd be surprised how many posts we see that have some strange setup that someone concocked because they like the "novelty" of it. my point in saying that was to expose the posibility that it was not a plausible idea with a real world application.
and honestly...you gave your reason for wanting the 455. and personally i kindda like the thought/reason behind it.

"doesn't mean i have not held a vented...ohhh that's right that makes everyone mad......i mean lightweight flywheel"

when you talk about a part using terms that nobody is familiar with, in a way making it sound like something that doesn't exist...it can cause confusion. and we were trying to correct you. i mean in 10 yrs of looking at performance parts, i've never ONCE seen a flywheel described as "vented"...is it that hard to see the confusion and skepticism in it?

but really...when you are the one giving wrong or strange information...and we are struggling to correct and comprehend you...

does it surprise you that we have a little fun at your expense.

i was new here too...and trust me...i've asked some stupid questions and gotten razzed for it. but i learned and researched more...instead of arguing over petty details.

Re: What do you think

but see...i dont pretend to know music...

and if i started talking to you about it, using all kinds of oddball terms for instruments...

you'd laugh at me just like we've laughed at you here.

you seem to indicate you know alot about cars...but honestly...most of what you've said here...indicates otherwise.

not to mention what you were asking was pretty unclear...kindda hard to read your mind as to your intent.

you just spit out a displacement and asked how it would perform. but you left out information like internals, what heads, intake, camshaft, which block you'll use.

if you had come on here and asked "what heads would i need to run 600hp through a 455ci LSx based stroker?".....we probably could have helped you.

or "what are my cam options on big cube LSx motors?"....

or "how do you grind a crank to increase stroke to 4.05" on an lsx engine"....

get my drift?

Re: What do you think

I am a serious minded person..........i am extremely smart..........i joke alittle but not all the time.........especially since the time is nearing for me to buy my Trans and i am trying to get the numbers and facts and info and planed build mod order.......i just want the facts.........

I appreciate the more serious post.........i type like a gazillion words a minute hence the typos and misstated words........

If i do so and it is not obvious what i am saying.............i can understand that............I was expecting a question more like

Vented Flywheel?

I call everything that has holes in it vented.......It part of the texan in me........i have my ways of doing things.

I mean i can have fun too.........

I have been wondering why the girl, i hope its a girls though i can't tell, in your user id is so flat chested..........for me i prefer my girls too like as far away as possible from dudes........yours looks like a trans*dyte on hor*mones and isn't florida where all the kiddy pervs come from.......now i know why your so angry........you were molested when you were younger.........

EOO( Equal Opportunity Offender)

Just kidding............

Re: What do you think

Teke: i hear you and understand........but please don't think because there was not enough info for you to give a suggestion that others more knowledgeable couldn't...........not saying you are not knowledgable.

honestly i have ahd conversations with ase master and he was able to kinda tell me alittle about the characteristics of this engine with these bottom end parts..........some people can tell you how and engine will perform using bottom end........please understand to different blocks run differently......then the crank you add and the compression heights/shapes of the pistons, the length of connecting rod and deck clearance all have an effect on an engine before you slap the heads on and a very experience mechanic can tell what that bottom end characteristics will be......bore adn stroke are in the bottom end and bore and stroke determine if its going to be a stroker or a destroked rever.....and so forth......... there is enough info that if you check on rod length and bore adn compression figures on a stock ls1 you can see the difference in my proposed engine adn tell it its going to be torquer or more top end reving

Sorry i did not clearify earlier........but since razzing is polite........not my fault you rooks couldn't figure it out

Re: What do you think

I didn't read the last couple posts... you guys need to simmer down.

WDT, not only have I picked up a guitar, but I can play a few licks. Incidentally, I'm also quite good with a viola. I should hope so after 18 years of training. (most of my training was on a violin, but the skills translate perfectly). I'm not sure how this is relevant, but you can feel free to ask me about music.

I've owned an LS1 Camaro for about six months now, and I am new to them as of that date. I've been "into cars" for years, however, and I have done a LOT of research on enhancing performance on LS1 F-body cars in those six months.

There, I've established my starting point -- you know who is talking.

Now, please show me a vented flywheel. I contend that no such thing exists. This is your chance to prove me wrong.

Re: What do you think

ah...finally...more civilized harassment

"isn't florida where all the kiddy pervs come from.......now i know why your so angry........you were molested when you were younger"

no...that's alabama man...couple states over.

besides i am from NY....and if i had been molested....GOOD LORD...i'd be even more of a **** than i already am...

as for the engine. just a stroke and bore are not really enough to say one way or the other on the potential characteristics of the engine.

at first glance...having a bore/stroke that big will make high reving pretty hard on parts. you could probably build that motor to rev to 6500 and make gobs of low end torque with the right cam/heads combo.

it's just that it's such a experimental engine setup, there really isn't much knowledge base to draw from. you'd really need to talk to the builders...not some internet mechanics.

i think this thread has about had it....

psst...by the way...real ***** flatten out when a girl lays down. she's actually a healthy 34C.
