And with what you had and no headers on ET streets I ran 12.15 @ 110

Yes, nice hp and torque gains when you go with a longtube header. Typically, it nets about 20hp when going from a stock exhaust setup (with a catback) to longtube headers. Header/catback cars usually produce about 35hp more than stock exhaust cars. Granted, everyone's car is different. But, I figure '35' is a good overall/average number.

I had a guy in an LS-2 GTO get cocky with me the other day, and I dusted him with only minor bolt-ons. Don't let that "400 HP" intimidate you too much

Exactly...HP to weight ratio is the key. That's what the ricers live by, remember?

Re: what the hell??

yeah, that's because they dump 3 or 4 grand into those pieces of junk and start thinking they can hang with the big dogs. it would probably help if most of it didn't go on stereos, neon lights, and giant spoilers the idiots will never make any real use of...

I agree with your statement, however I know of 05/06 GTOs that turn high 12s on a regular basis, certainly not something a stock LS1 fbody is known for doing. Not only that, but with the fastest stock fbodies times running in the high 12s, the fastest I have heard of a bone stock Goat going was a mid 12, making the Goat likely to get the win in a equal driver race.

I have never seen or heard of any stock GTO running mid 12s. I have seen many run here in MI and even with some mods 12 are tough.

I would never be afraid of a stock GTO with a stock LS1 f-body.

Same here...and we get some nice cool days to run at the beginning and the end of the season. That's when I got my 12.5. Once summer really gets here, ET's usually jump .2~.3 though...

Re: what the hell??

IF they did run that well stock, GM would have had better sales.

I will go get some timeslips from the Goat boards. Not all of them do, but the capability is there. Almost no fbodies ever run 12s stock, and most don't even turn low 13s stock, but yet the possibility is there.

No one who bought a GTO considers it slow. Somehow, I doubt being alittle faster would have helped sales. Besides, they sold all they planned on importing anyway. Wouldn't call the cars sales bad.
