Is the '02 Z-28 the fastest out of the show room?
What time have you guys got in stock trim?

 

I believe that in stock form, the 01-02 LS1's perform better than 98-00. I have heard people say that 02 performs better than 01, but I think it is down to driver skill. and if that same driver drove both an 01 and 02, it would be down to 0.00? I think. that minimal of a difference.

 

01 and 02 are the same thing....and aren't a whole lot faster, if at all, than the 98-00 cars because I have seen stock 98's run a best of 12.8-12.9. I have seen the same times run from the newer cars despite the power differences. Most people don't get these kind of numbers, but it has been achieved many times.

But put the 01-02 intake on the 98-00 engines and it will be more powerful because of the difference in cams.
