When to tune up LS1?

I have a 98 TA, with 53,000 miles. Just wondering how long the stock plugs and wires are good for before the performance starts to fall off? I know they're probably 100,000 mile plugs, but as we know they rarely last that long before needing replaced.

I did mine (factory originals) at 50k and they were doa. Half had the little pucks on the ground electrode missing, resulting in huge gaps. Went with regular Bosch platinums and it felt like it picked up 30 hp.

It'll be a little easier if you get the AIR tubes out of the way. Mabie even get the coils out of there too.. for the PASS side at least.

I did mine when I did the headers.... So I had insane ammounts of room...Of course I had to take a couple out in ordeer to get the header in, but still...

No kidding, I did plugs and wires at @ 32K on my Z28 I had because of loss of mileage *went from 22 average down to 14 w/ same driving habits* and damn #8 took 45 minuets to change the plug. I recommend having your car on a lift to do plugs.

What is the part number for the AC delco plugs and what is the part number for NGK plugs for a 99 TA?

Which ever you prefer. They're so short it doesn't really matter. All those 8.8 mm are the same sized wire. They just have more insulation.

Don't know on the AC Delco, but the TR55's are NGK stock number 3951.
