RK pPorts sells a kit for something like $27 when all said and done. Easy to put on and all. Just let it cool down all the way...(trust me, I know!)

It's cool I just ordered one from BMR Fabrication for $15! Has anybody had any experience ordering parts from them?

Thumbs up

BMR Rules!!! I picked some parts up from him the other day. I got to meet the owner and he is really a nice guy. He took plenty of time to answer all of my questions, and his parts are the BEST!

You shouldn't have to buy a kit to do it. I have yet to do it on a LS1 motor but I have had two LT1's that I did it on and it was very easy. One of our members here has an illustration of how to do it I am sure. It goes under the heading of "freemod" which is basivcally anything you can do to gain any Horsepower that is free or very inexpensive. Another example is taking the screen out of your MAF. Free Mods that give you an increase in HP.

LT1's and LS1's are different. My 97 required nothing but moving a hose. BUT, OTHER year LT1's DID require some adjustments and extra parts. So yes, the kit helps and yes you do need parts for the LS1. At least MY year, you do.
