Will I flood it?

I had a buddy of mine tell me that I might possibly flood my engine after im done with my build. I installed 42lb injectors. I hope to make a lot of power and I know that with a tune, you can tune them down.... I went with the larger injectors because I hope to one day supercharge or turbo the car....Anyways. Will I be in trouble if I run the car after my build? Will the stock tune not even allow the injectors to spray as much? ?

The PCM will not know the injector size difference, and will keep them open as long as the stock injectors should be. That means you'll be seeing a LOT more fuel, and the engine will run very poorly, if it all, without a tune. DO NOT put the injectors in until you're at the shop just before the tune.

well..

What if I take it to the shop, via trailor and get a base tune to get the injectors going right... Run the cam alittle and bring it back in for a complete tune?

No reason to put it on a trailer and tow it, just do a mail order tune. Call the tuner, tell him what's going on and just send him the PCM.

What makes you think that you need to ''run the cam a little bit''? It's not an old school flat tappet cam.

Do whatever engine work you plan on doing. Reassemble with the stock injectors. Drive it to get tuned and explain to the tuner that you will replace the injectors in the parking lot or in the back of the shop. Swapping the injectors on the car should take no more than 10-15 minutes. Or you could pay the tuner to do it, but that would be a waste of money.

well....

I called the Tuner today. I will need to get the car towed there, due to selling the stock injectors, im left with the 42s. He will do a base tune. I want to break the new **** in for a week, drain the oil and take it for its real tune. He said he'll do the base for $100 and deduct some from the regular tune which is 335 without the deduction... He was saying something about a oil catch can? Why?

If your talking about breaking in a new roller cam , there is no need to at all , the rollers just roll over the cam lobes . As far as the catch can goes , the pcv systems on these engines don't always do the best job of stopping oil vapor from entering the intake manifold . You may or may not know, but oil vapor causes fouled spark plugs, but the worst problem it causes is detonation or pinging as some people call it which is very bad on the pistons and valvetrain . So think of the catch can as a little extra protection for your engine .

Once you remove the intake inspect it and the intake ports on the heads for oil. If you find an excessive amount, a catch can is a good idea. A very light coating of oil is normal even with a catch can, so there would no point in wasting the money.

If I were you I would ask the tuner if he has a stock set of injectors laying around that you could borrow to drive the car in. ANY tuner worth ANYTHING should have a few sets collecting dust...
