Will this sensor compliment my FIPK??

Do not do it, unless you are planning on getting your PCM tuned. MAFs are the single most problematic of all mods you can do to your LS1. Im not saying you can't benefit from them, cause when done right, theyre a nice mod to have, but the vast majority of people who mess with their MAF either see no change, or start having problems.

I have a fipk and just installed a pace vv maf and I'm very happy with both these mods. I had a lid and slp maf and the car ran ok up top with the slp but weak down low. Ran good down low with stock maf and direct flow lid but was weak at higher rpm's. Now with the fipk and pace maf the car revs much faster now. I was amazed how fast the car revved yesterday when I went wot in third getting on the freeway. Third used to not fell all that great before these mods. Now the car pulls great down low and up top in all gears. Most of the problem with maf's are with Granatelli, slp and maf ends and porting the stock unit. The pace is gm calibrated and rarely does anybody have a problem with them. There also a lot less $$ then a gmaf.

I went with the GMAFS. Personally, I've had no problems over the past 2 1/2 years and felt a difference once installed. If you decide to get one, make sure you opt for what they call "cold air tuning." Basically, they tune it to richen up the fuel curve a little so you don't have a lean condition. Their MAF combined with the other mods I had was causing my LS1 to lean out in the upper RPM's, so I sent it back and had it recalibrated for the cold air tuning. Now, the car runs strong and there's hardly any flow resistance in front of my throttle body. You should check out their site and see what they have to say about it.

"When do I need cold air tuning?
Cold air inductions significantly increase airflow and can cause tremendous turbulence in the air intake stream. When using the GMS mass airflow sensor with any type of cold air induction, high flow induction, or high flow air filter, your GMS mass airflow sensor must be calibrated with cold air tuning or a check engine light can occur. Cold air tuning is designated by a "C" as the last digit in the part number. Cold air tuning is also available for existing GMS mass airflow sensor owners - please call 805-486-6644 for details."
